A Family-Operated Electrical Contractor in Owen Sound
Wayne Benedict launched Benedict Electrical Contracting Limited in Owen Sound in 1998 with the aim of creating a lasting family-owned and -operated business. His wife, Marg, is also involved with the operation of our company, as well as his son Stephen, who started out as an apprentice and is now training apprentices in his own right. Mary Ann is also involved in our company’s everyday operations.
We Sponsor Co-Operative Students & Hire Apprentices
Providing reliable electrical services for Grey Bruce and surrounding areas, Wayne and Stephen are both Master Electricians. We employ approximately 10 electricians and electrical apprentices during our peak times. Hiring many of our apprentices through Job Connect, we demonstrate our commitment to prior learning assessment by recognizing certificates, giving credit for previous work experience and providing advanced opportunities for new apprentices with varied training and educational experiences. We also sponsor co-operative educational placements for local high school students in Grey and Bruce Counties who are interested in learning more about a skilled electrical trades career close to home.
Other Ways We Give Back to Our Community
Benedict Electrical Contracting Limited is an active member of the Owen Sound & District Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, the Ontario Electrical League and the Safe Communities Incentive Program. With a firm belief in the importance of giving back to the community that we call home, we also regularly donate our time to local Habitat for Humanity projects. We also participate in several other worthwhile community projects, including the Owen Sound Bandstand Project in 2012.
